Kata Cape Coral Judo Club was established in 2025 in Cape Coral, Florida by Sensei Kasia, whose passion for martial arts and dedication to youth development began in Poland. After moving to the United States in 2013, she opened Kata Chicago Judo Club in Chicago, Illinois 2016 with the support of Shihan Lesław Samitowski and Jaga Samitowska of Kanku Karate Kyokushin Club, sharing space in their Dojo and fostering a strong, supportive community. Over the years, both clubs have continued to grow, maintaining active connections with USA Judo organizations locally and nationwide. Kata Chicago athletes compete in tournaments across the country and earn significant achievements each year.
Sensei Kasia brings more than thirty years of Judo experience to her students. She competed as a member of the Polish National Judo Team and earned multiple medals in Junior and Senior Judo Championships. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and has dedicated the past two decades to working as an educator. Today, she serves as a High School Physical Education Teacher and the Head Coach for both Boys and Girls Wrestling Team, continuing her mission to guide young athletes and inspire a lifelong appreciation for disciplined training and personal growth.
At Kata Cape Coral Judo Club, students have the ability to learn and practice judo techniques which help them develop basic and fundamental physical fitness, and self-defense methods through the development of strength, flexibility, speed, explosive power, and endurance. At the dojo, students also learn many important social skills, including the acceptance of others, support of our peers, the value of competition, and the importance of teamwork. Through this fair and positive sportsmanship, kids develop the ability to form life-lasting friendships and bonds. They create something special and become ONE BIG JUDO FAMILY.

This Japanese martial art was founded in 1882 by Jigorō Kanō. It is also an Olympic sport. Holds and leverage are used to bring the opponent to yield. Techniques generally intend to turn an opponent’s force to one’s own advantage rather than to oppose the force directly. The word “judo” can be broken down into two parts: “ju” meaning “gentle,” and “do meaning “way,” which together means, “gentle way.” This judo definition represents one of the martial art’s major concepts, that gentleness controls hardness. Kata Cape Coral Judo Club is a traditional dojo, practicing the high moral principles of the sport.
